jasmine essential oil for organic creams and lotions
Extracted from the little, white, divinely fragrant flowers of the Jasmine evergreen shrubs, Jasmine essential oil is intensely hydrating and restorative – such a wonderful addition to dry and mature skin creams!

Having its origins in the Indian peninsula, China and Persia the name derives from the Persian “Yasmin”. The pretty white flowers of this shrub emanate a sweetly captivating scent and is a significant plant used in perfumery. Night blooming Jasmine blooms at only night and imbues the atmosphere with its distinctive and alluring fragrance. Although now cultivated in many countries, Egypt is the largest producer and exporter of Jasmine, followed by Morocco and India.

Venerated for its heavenly scent, Jasmine is used widely in Indian tradition – women wear Jasmine in hair for the scent, its flowers are dispersed in religious ceremonies and idols of gods are adorned in Jasmine garlands.

Jasmine has inspired poets and romantics throughout the ages. Wake the dreamer in you by including Jasmine in your blend to arouse the senses while hydrating your parched skin.

Jasmine flowers contain potent antiseptic, antibacterial, and antiviral properties thanks to a portfolio of natural compounds. The essential oils and botanical extracts of jasmine bolster skin’s elasticity and help balance moisture in the skin to naturally reduce dryness. Jasmine essential oil is also used to fade acne scars and stretch marks.

Pregnant women should be cautious when using Jasmine essential oil. It is highly relaxing and sedating and thus heavy doses should be avoided. Those highly prone to allergies should test Jasmine on a small patch of skin before using it.
